ARTIST APPLICATIONS FOR LORIENT INTERCELTIQUE FESTIVAL
4 – 13 AUGUST 2017
SHOWCASE SCOTLAND EXPO have negotiated a Year of Scotland at the Lorient Interceltique Festival in Brittany, France. The Focus is supported by, the Scottish Government, Creative Scotland, Visit Scotland, TRACS (Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland), Feis Rois, Scottish Music Centre, British Council Scotland and HebCelt Festival.
The Festival is the largest of its kind in mainland Europe with an average audience of 800,000 over ten days. There are several performance opportunities for artists including the Scottish Pavilion, which is free to the general public and will run from 10am until 1.30am–2.30am each day. Artists will be asked to perform twice a day for approximately 45 minutes each and may also be asked to host three or four workshops whilst at the festival.
Each musician will be paid a fee to perform and travel, accommodation and subsistence will also be paid.
There may also be additional performance opportunities at the Festival, which will be negotiated separately to the Pavilion performances.
Preference will be shown to artists who are available for all ten days of the festival although we will accept applications from artists who are available for less time. Please make sure you clearly indicate your availability it the form below.
We are seeking applications from artists to be selected to perform as part of the event. The form below should be completed and emailed along with any supporting materials to showcasescotland@activeevents.org.uk by 5pm on 6th January 2017.
