As some of you may be aware, St Margaret’s Braemar and Live Music Now Scotland are running a project during the October holidays (12 – 18 October) for young Scottish traditional musicians aged living in Aberdeenshire. The project shall combine participatory group and one-to-one tuition, and composition workshops, led by award-winning Scottish traditional band Barluath and composer Simon Thoumire.
As part of the project participants shall give a number of public performances, alongside Barluath, around the local community, culminating in a public performance in St Margaret’s Braemar on the evening of 18 October.
All costs of the project are covered by St Margret’s Braemar, so there is no cost to participants. This is due to generous support from the Youth Talent Development Fund of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, administered by Creative Scotland.
Please find attached further information, as well as an application form, and equalities monitoring form.
There are still have some places available, and we would ask if you could pass this on to any young people you feel might be interested in taking part in this exciting opportunity.
If you or potential participants would like more information on the project, please do not hesitate to get in touch using this email address jamie.munn@livemusicnow.org.uk
