Fixed term for 1 year
• Prepare the venue for events by setting out tables and chairs; adapting the layout if needed to accommodate the needs of the event; and checking to make sure the venue is clean, tidy and there are no obvious health & safety hazards.
• Carry out a four weekly schedule for cleaning of different areas in the venue:
o Stage
o Bar
o Desk
o Equipment check
• Prepare the stage area, lights and sound equipment for events (you will be supervised by a sound technician or other experienced person for complex technical set-ups e.g. a band performance).
• Undertake promotional activity for events as needed (e.g. designing, printing and distributing posters/flyers, online promotion and social media)
• Act as a runner and assistant to venue staff and visiting performers/event staff.
• Stock the bar
• Staff the bar + operate the till
• Sell/collect tickets and entrance fees on the door
• After the event, put away tables and chairs and carry out general tidying of the venue.
• As directed, act as a liaison between the venue and visiting performers/events staff
• With time, there may be the opportunity for you to run your own event(s) in the venue
• Any other duties as required by your line manager
