Creative Scotland have published their draft Gaelic Language Plan 2022-27 and invite responses from anyone interested in Gaelic, or the work of Creative Scotland.
Creative Scotland recognises that Gaelic is, and continues to be, an integral part of Scotland’s heritage, national identity and our current and future cultural life.
Creative Scotland is currently in the process of developing our third Gaelic Language Plan which will cover the years 2022-27. This Plan is required of Creative Scotland as set out in the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005.
As part of this development process, we have developed a High Level version of the Plan, which has been approved by Bord na Gaidhlig.
The plan sets out how the work of Creative Scotland and the people and organisations we support across Scotland’s cultural and creative sector, can help support Gaelic language and culture, promote a positive image of the language, increase its use and encourage learning.
Our full Gaelic Language Plan for 2022-27 will be published in Autumn 2022.
A draft of this Plan is now available to read, and we invite you to take part in a consultation on this.
If you’ve got an interest in Gaelic, or the work of Creative Scotland, then we’d like to know your thoughts. The survey will remain open until 16 September.
