From Showcase Scotland Expo
Friday 9 October | 1pm | Online via Zoom
There are significant changes taking place across music funding, alongside new and existing opportunities for artists looking to develop their careers, tour, showcase internationally and build sustainable businesses.
With several different funds, different eligibility criteria and new programmes coming on stream, it isn’t always easy to work out what is available — or which opportunity is the right fit for you.
Showcase Scotland Expo is bringing together four of the people directly involved in delivering and shaping some of the key funding and support programmes available to artists and the music sector for a special online session.
Alan Morrison – Head of Music, Creative Scotland
Alan will look at the funding and support available through Creative Scotland and the opportunities relevant to artists developing their work and careers.
Dr Claire Mera-Nelson – Director, Music, Arts Council England
Claire will talk through Arts Council England’s new Music Creators Growth Fund, for artists and music creators, and the Music Growth Fund, supporting music businesses.
Thomas Brigden – Featured Artists Coalition (FAC)
Thomas will look at the funding and support FAC provides for independent artists, including programmes such as the UK Artist Touring Fund (UKAT) and Step Up Fund, as well as the wider work FAC undertakes to support artists in building sustainable careers.
Hannah Bashir–Eviston – Grants Officer, PRS FoundationHannah has worked across the Talent Development Network, Open Fund for Music Creators, Early Career Promoter Fund, Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition, International Showcase Fund and BBC Music Introducing Partnership.
