The main purpose of this role is to support the Lead Administrator and Festival Committee in the delivery of the 2019 Harp Festival which takes place from the 5th – 10th of April 2019. The Edinburgh International Harp Festival takes place in Merchiston Castle School, with attendees from all over the world. We are looking for a team player who is highly organised and able to take the initiative with an interest in music and working in a festival environment.
In the lead up to the festival, the candidate would be expected to support the festival office by processing bookings, following up on inquiries, liaising with members of the committee, office administrative tasks, stationary and equipment orders, photocopying music and creating student packs and other tasks as they arise as instructed by the Lead Administrator.
During the festival, the candidate will be expected to help with setting up the festival office and box office during the set up day, support the box office team with processing of tickets and help with volunteer training, be present in the festival office to support artist and tutors with administrative tasks as well supporting the Festival team with daily duties.
Essential
• Experience of working in a busy Festival environment
• Experience of using VIA ticketing system by Red61
• Competent in using Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Office
• IT literate and confident in learning new systems
Desirable
• Experience working in a supervisory role or coordinating volunteers
Pay: £10/hour
Period:
1 day per week (7.5hrs/day) in the lead up to the festival starting week beginning the 4th March within office hours. Day of choice is flexible and to be agreed with the Lead Administrator.
5 days during the festival which will be timetabled in shift format and may fall between 8am and 11pm.
Candidate should preferably be Edinburgh based or able to organise suitable accommodation for themselves during the festival period, as we cannot offer any support with accommodation or travel.
The contract is on a freelance basis and the individual is responsible for declaring their own income.
