Drake Music Scotland are the nation’s leading organisation providing music education opportunities to disabled musicians of all ages. A key part of the Drake Music Scotland programme is working with Figurenotes notation.
Figurenotes notation was invented in Finland and is an intuitive form of notation that uses colour and shape to show pitch and rhythm. It is perfect for all beginners, and is also particularly useful for people with dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder and many other additional support needs. Figurenotes notation progresses to standard notation through three simple stages.
Figurenotes is used and distributed Globally, and the Figurenotes Officer is responsible for all aspects of the Figurenotes project including creation of resources, marketing and promotion, organising events and training, and being the main point of contact for enquiries relating to Figurenotes.

This post is a Maternity cover for 9 months with potential to extend to 12 months. Hours are 25.5 hours a week, and flexible. Salary is £18,000 pro rata.
