Distil Showcase 2016: The Hebridean Collective by Mhairi Mackinnon

The Distil Showcase will return again to the Tolbooth in Stirling on Friday 8th April 2016 at 8pm. The concert showcases the new and exciting music of traditional music composers. We are very lucky to have Mr McFall’s Chamber as our resident house band once again. You can buy tickets for this fab night of music here!

Mhairi Mackinnon has written music called The Hebridean Collective. Here’s some information about it.

This is a suit comprising of four melodies inspired by the folklore, the people and the antiquities of the Hebridean isles of Gigha and Islay. The individual pieces are: Prosperity Hill, The Giants Tooth, The Portnahaven Polka and Every Man for Himself.

You can read about all the composers here.
