The Distil Showcase will return again to the Tolbooth in Stirling on Friday 8th April 2016 at 8pm. The concert showcases the new and exciting music of traditional music composers. Stuart Macpherson has written music called Lauchlan’s Waltz. Here’s some information about it.
A few years back I recorded my son (aged 3 at the time) playing about with the piano. There was a couple of really interesting wee phrases that stuck out to me and since then I’ve been wanting to incorporate them into a piece but never quite got round to it. The opportunity to write for Mr McFall’s Chamber seemed like a pretty good reason to do something about that. This piece is based on one of those phrases.
