We really enjoyed our workshop with Drake Music Scotland on Friday 12th June in Edinburgh. The idea of the workshop was to work on making traditional music that was totally inclusive and could be performed by musicians with disabilities. Attending the workshop was for Distil was Karen Marshalsay, Alana MacInnes and Simon Thoumire. Attending for Drake was Pete, Amy, Rona and Claire.
In the morning we worked on improvisations and in the afternoon we performed a couple of pieces by Karen and Amy. We looked at the best ways to write and perform these works and we will take what we have learnt through to the next workshop. There is a possible gig in the Edinburgh festival for us to look forward to as well!
