The Composers Lab offers a unique chance for emerging composers to meet with some of the most successful professionals in their field and to find out what the real score is in the world of moving image composition.

Over five days, eight composers will attend EIFF to learn from leading film composers, directors, music editors and supervisors who will lend their insight, advice and expertise. Participants are also given a full Festival pass and invited to attend other industry events that are taking place during the Festival.

Guest speakers in 2012 included: John Lunn (Unconditional, Downton Abbey),  Julian Nott (Wallace and Gromit, The Royal Bodyguard), Nina Humphreys (All the Small Things, Murder), Dickon Hinchliffe (Shadow Dancer, Winter’s Bone) and  games composer Joris de Man (Killzone)

Composer participants will also have the chance to link up with our Sound Lab participants through a series of networking and information events.

The 2013 Composer Lab will run from 24 – 28 June. Participants will also receive a full festival Industry pass to allow them to immerse themselves in all the events and passholder screenings on offer.
