Musicians required for Dance for Parkinson’s national programme!
The Dance for Parkinson’s Scotland programme is a joint initiative managed by Dance Base, Scotland’s National Centre for Dance and Scottish Ballet, Scotland’s National Dance Company, and delivered in partnership with Parkinson’s UK.
This national programme originally delivered in Glasgow and Edinburgh for several years now, has been rolled out to five other geographical areas; Aberdeen, Inverness, Dundee, Greenock, Kilmarnock, with a further three areas next year in Stirling, Perth and Peebles.
The sessions operate on a weekly basis for two hours and consist of live music and creative movement and dance, all provided by experienced and qualified artists and supported by a team of volunteers. The fee for the musician for a two-hour session is £75.
The programme would like to recruit suitably experienced musicians to work with the dance artists and play live music for this participatory class for people with Parkinson’s. It would be advantageous to be able to improvise and/or have experience of working within creative leaning and skills of playing for a dance class.
If you are interested, please email Lisa Sinclair on lisa.sinclair@scottishballet.co.uk with your CV and a covering letter noting your experience and which geographical area you could travel to.
