Basic Income and the Music Industry Interactive Discussion

An interactive discussion to explore what a basic income would mean for music industry creatives in Scotland. What difference would it make to you, the sector and the arts more widely?

Sunday July 5th 1-3pm, Stereo 22 Renfield Lane, Glasgow, G2 5AR

Music is one of Scotland’s most renowned industries and cultural exports. A basic income for artists pilot has been promised that could change what it means to build a career in music.

On Sunday 5th July Basic Income for Artists Scotland is at Stereo in Glasgow to talk about it. Musicians, producers, sound engineers, promoters, music industry creatives come and have the Conversation.

– What would a basic income mean for you and the musicians you work with? How should the pilot be designed to work for the music industry? Artists must shape this opportunity.

– We will share some insight into universal basic income and the basic income for artists scheme in Ireland.

– And explore what next steps we want to take to ensure artists in Scotland are consulted.
