The Ayrshire Rural Touring Network has now been in action for one year and what an exciting year it has been! So far, they have worked in 15 villages across Ayrshire hosting 32 performances of music, theatre, comedy and murder mysteries. Between July 2018 and January 2019 they will be hosting 48 performances in and around Ayrshire.
Over 1,000 people have attended our Rural Touring events and the responses from audiences have been brilliant.
This season they’ve hosted kids clown comedy, ‘Jango Starr’, three fantastic Scottish bands; ‘Barluath’, ‘Kilda’ and the ‘Alistair McCulloch Trio’ and are delighted to be collaborating with the Ballantrae Smuggler’s Festival 2018 to bring you ‘A Smuggler’s Murder Mystery’ and ‘The McDougall’s Treasure Hunt’.
The aim is to provide something for everyone with a range of different genres and various age considerations. The Autumn programme will commence in September and will include cabaret, jazz, dance, children’s theatre, Canadian folk music, a beautiful string concert for Christmas, a family-friendly Christmas show from Northumberland Theatre Company and a commemorative wartime play by Northsouth Theatre.
