Associate Head of Strings (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland)

Salary Scale: £44,835 – £50,465 per annum

We are: looking to appoint a highly creative, proactive and experienced individual in the role of Associate Head of Strings within our School of Music.

We are: a national and international centre of excellence for the performing arts. Building on our roots in 1847 as the Athenaeum, we are now one of Europe’s most multi-disciplinary centres of performing arts education. Through our innovative curriculum, we offer highly specialised education in and across the art forms of music, drama, dance, film and production. Our innovative undergraduate and postgraduate curricula combine intense specialist study of the highest quality with opportunities for student choice and artistic collaboration across artistic disciplines, thereby educating our graduates as versatile, employable professionals

You will: assist in the administration and ensure the highest quality of student experience within the Strings Department. This will include contributing to the delivery of the Strings curriculum either in 1:1 teaching or ensemble coaching, as well as supervising and monitoring all Supporting Studies and chamber music schedules.

You must have: appropriate musical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and an ability to listen to, understand and respond to the needs of strings students and staff. You will possess the musical authority to inspire both colleagues and students.

Experience working in a school, Further Education, Higher Education or performing arts setting is advantageous.
