Open Space is Bespoke support for innovative and ambitious emerging artists and ensembles for up to three years.
Through a series of artist-led residencies, the scheme offers the flexibility to explore and create new works, try out new collaborations and experiment with new ways of working, away from the pressures of everyday life as a professional musician. This unique opportunity allows participants to become part of the Snape Maltings family, to experience Snape’s creative campus on a regular basis and to make use of our expertise and vast array of contacts.
Each ensemble or individual is allocated a budget which can be used flexibly in discussion with the Producer, for example to cover accommodation and travel or hire of equipment, or for external consultants – however, ideally this budget is not used to cover artist fees.

Open Space is made possible through the generous support of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
