To celebrate the launch of STV2 broadcasting from our Ayr Campus, UWS Creative Media Academy’s exciting new Summer School offers you the chance to develop your creative and production skills in the TV studios and newsroom in our £81 million Ayr Campus.
Covering aspects of digital news gathering, mobile journalism, studio TV production and creative filmmaking, this introductory hands-on Summer School is delivered by experienced UWS teaching staff and industry practitioners, James Mahon and Shona Wallace.
Using industry standard equipment, participants will have the opportunity to learn news reporting techniques, make a short film and work as a member of a studio production team to develop and record programme content for live broadcast.
This one-week course is ideal for anyone at the beginning of learning about television production, whether for fun or as the start of a professional journey.
With £30 million investment for programme making announced for the new BBC in Scotland channel launching in 2018, and a plan to recruit 80 new journalists, as well as STV’s new local network now broadcasting across the nation, there has never been a better time for all ages to connect to the growing opportunities in the screen industries in the West of Scotland.
