It’s amazing how the time goes in from the semi-finals of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award to the Finals. After last years brief relocation to the Royal Scottish Conservatoire we’re back on Sunday 2nd February in the City Halls, Glasgow.
The rehearsals will start on Friday morning 31st January in the BBC and we will all meet up later for a delicious meal somewhere in Glasgow and head to a late night event usually in the Fruitmarket. Saturday consists of more rehearsals, a recce to the City Halls, more food (I like these bits), possibly another concert and even more food.
Sunday is always a busy day starting off early with the soundchecks. It always amazes me how fast a day can go. We get there about 10am, blink and then it’s showtime at 5pm! You’ll be able to listen the final in its entirety on BBC Radio Scotland from 5pm to 8pm and on Monday evening you can watch the highlights on BBC ALBA (only to viewers in the UK). After the show we will host a winners reception and then – you’ve guessed it – head off for some food hopefully in the South Indian restaurant across the road from the City Halls 😉
