Josie Duncan are performing at TradLive 2017 – Hands Up for Trad’s Online Music Festival . You can watch them perform on the 23rd September from 2pm to 11pm on YouTube. Read about Josie Duncan below.
Josie Duncan is a recent graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she studied with some of the masters of the Scottish and Gaelic traditions. As well as performing traditional song with a crystal clear voice, Josie is a songwriter in her own right and has toured extensively performing at many festivals and venues all over Europe, Scandanavia, Canada and America. This year, she was awarded Radio 2’s Young Folk Award alongside guitarist, Pablo Lafuente. Other projects she enjoys include singing with the innovative Gaelictronica band ‘Inyal’ and singing with ‘Blasta’, a showcase of singers from the Isle of Lewis. Josie has an undeniable Gaelic twang in her voice that somehow feels at home in any genre. She truly merges the traditional and the modern.
