We asked Eddie Seaman of Barluath the following questions.<\/p>\n

Tell us about yourself<\/strong>
\nBarluath are a dynamic 6 piece folk band who draw on the traditions of Scotland, Ireland and America. Over the last few years they have been touring extensively around the UK and overseas, selling out venues and working with some of the most well-known names in folk music<\/p>\n

Why are you involved in Scottish music?<\/strong>
\nBarluath are all graduates and students of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The band are all involved in Glasgow’s very vibrant folk scene as well as teaching to promote the wider interest of Scottish Music.<\/p>\n

Any particular career highlights?<\/strong>
\nSome of the band\u2019s highlights include releasing their first album \u201cSource\u201d in 2012. The album was recorded on the Nimbus Label at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and was produced by Phil Cunningham. The band also won a prestigious Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections that same year.
\n They have also travelled to Washington D.C as part of the St Andrews Day Celebrations as well as playing at festivals all over the UK<\/p>\n

What are your plans for the future?<\/strong>
\nThe band has recently been in the studio to record its second album, produced by Anna Massie. The album is set to be released in January 2015 and the band has some exciting tour dates in place that will see them headline at festivals across the UK. In 2015 the band are set to tour the UK and make their first trips to Germany and Denmark.<\/p>\n
