It’s good to be a part of real community led events, and to feel you’re doing your bit to help things along.

Any particular career highlights?
There’s been a few one-offs like the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington and a week “working” in Tuscany teaching Scots Song, but the real highlights are more domestic. These include a 20 year run of performances at the Kirriemuir Pensioners Christmas Party, winning the World Bothy Ballad Championship in Elgin, and (along wi guitarist Johnny Kemp) getting the first ever Mexican Wave going at Dunfermline Folk Club.

What are your plans for the future?
No great master plan I’m afraid, but hope to keep singing and enjoying the songs.

Read more about Scott Gardiner
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7YQPPoSL4M

Buy a ticket for the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards on Saturday 13th December in Inverness Leisure, start time 7pm.
