We asked Gorbals of Gorbals Sound Studios<\/strong> the following questions.<\/p>\n

Tell us about yourself<\/strong>
\nOpened in 2011, Gorbals Sound Studio owner, Kenny Haughey, decided to open a world class recording studio in the heart of the Gorbals to help in the regeneration of the Gorbals and Laurieston area.<\/p>\n

Designed by Calum Malcolm, featuring 6 isolation booths, with incredible sight lines, Gorbals Sound can comfortably record most sizes of ensemble.<\/p>\n

Why are you involved in Scottish music?<\/strong>
\nAs a commercial recording studio, we are open to all genres of music production but have also been blessed with being a central base in Scotland for Scottish musicians\u2026
\nincluding Celtic Connections.<\/p>\n

Any particular career highlights?<\/strong>
\nGood folk, making good music.<\/p>\n

After Paul Buchanan’s \u2018Mid Air\u2019, Capercaillie’s 2013 \u2018At The Heart of It All\u2019 led to a long and prosperous relationship with Scottish music to date.<\/p>\n

From the number 1 album \u2018Lost Songs of St.Kilda\u2019 to RURA\u2019s forthcoming release, we\u2019ve hosted countless incredible musicians, producers and engineers over the last decade.<\/p>\n

If Gorbals Sound Studios can offer expertise in the recording process of an artist’s journey from first idea to final master, then our mission is complete.<\/p>\n

What are your plans for the future?<\/strong>
\nEnjoying last year’s amazing albums, such as; \u2018And So We Gather\u2019 by Kim Carnie, \u2018Bloom\u2019 by Siobhan Miller and \u2018Energy Islands\u2019 by FARA<\/p>\n

As well as awaiting the release of Gillibride MacMillan, and Graham Mackenzie’s latest masterpieces.<\/p>\n

The 2022 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards are back to normal on the 4th December 2022! You will be able to watch it live in person (buy a ticket here<\/a>),Watch it live in the UK at 9pm (GMT) on BBC ALBA and and around the world here<\/a>. Bands performing on Sunday 4th December include Elephant Sessions, Fara, Trip, Eryn Rae Trio, The Auldeners, Gordon Shand Scottish Dance Band, Irish Minstrels, Tayside Young Fiddlers, and a James Alexander Tribute.<\/p>\n
