We asked Ashleigh of Speyfest<\/strong> the following questions.<\/p>\n

Tell us about yourself<\/strong>
\nSpeyfest brings the best in traditional and contemporary music to Fochabers in Moray each July. The festival was founded by the late James M Alexander MBE in 1995. Over the last 25 years it has grown from a local event with one small tent holding around 300 people to a 1500 capacity rented village within the heart of Speyside.<\/p>\n

Why are you involved in Scottish music?<\/strong>
\nWe want to give everyone the opportunity to experience the rich culture of our traditional music and we believe there is something at Speyfest for everyone to enjoy!<\/p>\n

Any particular career highlights?<\/strong>
\nCelebrating our delayed 25th anniversary in 2022!<\/p>\n

What are your plans for the future?<\/strong>
\nContinue to bring the best of Scottish traditional music to Fochabers in James\u2019 legacy!<\/p>\n

The 2022 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards are back to normal on the 4th December 2022! You will be able to watch it live in person (buy a ticket here<\/a>),Watch it live in the UK at 9pm (GMT) on BBC ALBA and and around the world here<\/a>. Bands performing on Sunday 4th December include Elephant Sessions, Fara, Trip, Eryn Rae Trio, The Auldeners, Gordon Shand Scottish Dance Band, Irish Minstrels, Tayside Young Fiddlers, and a James Alexander Tribute.<\/p>\n
