Why not join us for a brilliant night of music and awards. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/handsup.link\/tradawards2022\">Buy a ticket here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We asked Zach of <strong>DL\u00d9<\/strong> the following questions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tell us about yourself<\/strong><br \/>\nWinners of the Danny Kyle Open Stage 2018, DL\u00d9 are a trad fusion band from Glasgow. Comprising of Moilidh NicGriogair, Zach Ronan, Aidan Spiers, Andrew Grossart, Seoras Chlad and guest vocalist Joseph McCluskey, their eclectic musical backgrounds influence their original melodies and arrangements, giving the band their own distinctive sound.<\/p>\n<p>Their name derives from the Gaelic word \u2018dl\u00f9th\u2019, meaning tight-knit and close, a tribute not only to the friendship between members but also to the band\u2019s origins which lie in the Glasgow Gaelic School.<\/p>\n<p>DL\u00d9 released their debut album \u2018Moch\u2019 in February 2022 at the \u00d2ran M\u00f2r, Glasgow. Their album has widely recognised with international radio plays and reviews.<\/p>\n<p>\u2606\u2606\u2606\u2606 RnR Mag \u2013 \u201cAn impressive debut from a band that seem destined to become major contributors to the evolution of Gaelic music.\u201d<br \/>\nFolk Radio, UK \u2013 \u201cIt may only be February, but with MOCH, DL\u00d9 might already be strong contenders for one of the debut albums of the year\u2026\u201d<br \/>\nTHE SCOTSMAN \u2013 \u201cScots Gaelic culture in folk music is already strong, but DL\u00d9 represent a new generation\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"DL\u00d9 - Br\u00e0ighe Loch Iall [Official Music Video]\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R873doxrPaA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why are you involved in Scottish music?<\/strong><br \/>\nAs Gaelic speakers, we feel passionately about keeping their culture alive by writing music that appeals not only to members of the Gaelic speaking community but to those who have never heard Scottish Traditional music or contemporary Scottish music before.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Any particular career highlights?<\/strong><br \/>\nPlaying to thousands at Stirling Castle in 2019 for their annual Hogmanay celebrations was a brilliant night.
