Louth, but it was in her adopted home of Edinburgh<br \/>\nthat her passion for traditional music was ignited. Internationally<br \/>\nrecognised as a composer and songwriter, she has performed around the world at festivals, clubs and concert halls, most recently completing a full<br \/>\nlength tour throughout the U.S. with her band in March 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The Nuala Kennedy Band were nominees for \u201cFolk Band of the Year 2013 in<br \/>\nthe MG Scottish Traditional Music Awards.<\/p>\n<p>Fiddler Shona Mooney made her debut with the Nuala Kennedy Band at Celtic Connections 2014 and will be joining them for several concerts during<br \/>\nApril\/May \u2013 Shona is a fiddler with a unique style from the Scottish<br \/>\nBorders and a recognised soloist in her own right.<\/p>\n<p>Singer\/flautist Nuala Kennedy and fiddler\/pianist Troy MacGillivray first<br \/>\nmet and played together at the Celtic Colours International Festival over a<br \/>\ndecade ago. Over the years they continued to tour together and have<br \/>\ndeveloped an intuitive and complementary duo style, which when combined<br \/>\nwith the dynamic Nuala Kennedy Band, is sure to result in some musical<br \/>\nfireworks.<\/p>\n<p>Recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for outstanding<br \/>\ncontributions to culture in Canada, Troy MacGillivray is a multiple<br \/>\naward-winning, internationally recognised virtuoso of the Cape Breton style<br \/>\nof fiddling and piano.
