Tell us about yourself<\/strong>
\nA leading Uilleann Piper, Calum Stewart\u2019s powerful and lyrical playing style is rooted in the traditional music of his native northern Scotland. His distinct musical voice has been developed through collaborations within the Scottish and Irish traditions.<\/p>\n

In addition to his concert schedule, Calum is in demand as a recording artist, with recent work including recordings and performances with The London Philharmonic Orchestra, The London Symphony Orchestra and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n

Why are you involved in Scottish music?<\/strong>
\nBecause it's my life's blood! Grew up with it in the household, part of my life since childhood. No matter where in the world I am, touring and playing, the music of home is always central.<\/p>\n

Any particular career highlights?<\/strong>
\nRecording and performing at different occasions with The London Philharmonic Orchestra, The London Symphony Orchestra and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n

What are your plans for the future?<\/strong>
\nContinuing to tour "Tales from the North" album material with my group. ("Tales from the North" is a collection of music, traditional and composed; Inspired by Calum's native North of Scotland. "Tales from the North" is a celebration of legend, landscape, people and adventure.<\/p>\n
