Tell us about yourself<\/strong>
\n7digital is the global leader in end-to-end digital music solutions. Its Creative team produces over 1,000 hours of high quality content every year for radio, TV and online.<\/p>\n

Why are you involved in Scottish music?<\/strong>
\n7digital devised the Radio 2 Folk Awards and has produced it for BBC Radio 2 every year since 1999. The Awards, now in their 19th year, and one of folk music\u2019s annual highlights, sees some of the biggest names celebrate the UK\u2019s thriving folk scene. The event, which is co-hosted by Mark Radcliffe and Julie Fowlis, takes pride in reflecting the music of all of the UK Nations and Regions and has taken place in Glasgow, Cardiff and Salford. In recent history some of the most prominent figures in Scottish music have been reconginsed at the ceremony, including Dougie Mclean, Aly Bain and John McCusker and the artists to achive recogintion via the Horizon Award (for best emerging act) include Karine Polwart, Kris Drever and Ewen McClennan. Past ceremonies have seen thrilling live performances that showcase the breadth of the Scottish Folk Music scene – Lau, Treacherous Orchestra, Blazin' Fiddles, Eddi Reader and Fara. In partnership with the Folk Awards runs the Young Folk Award, our annual search for talented young musicians aged between 16-21, which has been a platform for Josie Duncan and Pablo Lafuente, Lauren MacColl, Talisk and many more.<\/p>\n

What are your plans for the future?<\/strong>
\nWe are currently working on the 2018 Folk Awards with more information available in the New Year. The Young Folk Award is open for entries via the Radio 2 website https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/radio2<\/p>\n
