We asked Joseph Armstrong of Joseph Armstrong the following questions.<\/p>\n

Tell us about yourself<\/strong>
\nJoseph Armstrong is a flautist, uilleann piper, singer and whistle player from Glasgow, Scotland.<\/p>\n

Joe began his musical career at St. Roch\u2019s Irish Minstrels CCE branch of Comhaltas Ceolt\u00f3ir\u00ed \u00c9ireann, where he now prides himself as part of the St. Rochs Senior Ceilidh Band.<\/p>\n

He also recently graduated the BA Scottish Music course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. During these studies, he was taught both traditional and jazz flute.<\/p>\n

Joe uses all of his musical influences combining different aspects of Irish, Scottish and Jazz to create his unique style of musicianship.<\/p>\n

Why are you involved in Scottish music?<\/strong>
\nHaving started traditional music in Scotland from a young age, Joseph has been playing traditional music throughout Scotland and abroad for the past 14years. He got involved through the St. Rochs Irish Minstrels branch of Comhaltas. Since then he has gone on to study Scottish Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.<\/p>\n

Any particular career highlights?<\/strong>
\nJoseph has been lucky enough to perform in throughout Scotland, Ireland and England, as well as other venues across Europe. A particular highlight of his career was performing with DOSCA at the Trad Awards last year.<\/p>\n

What are your plans for the future?<\/strong>
\nHe will release a flute album containing my compositions. This will be accompanied by a tune book containing all compositions recorded on the album.<\/p>\n
