We asked Ainsley Hamill of Barluath the following questions.<\/p>\n

Tell us about yourself<\/strong>
\nBarluath are a diverse and innovative Glasgow-based Scottish folk band, who embrace both the traditional and contemporary music of Scotland, Ireland and America. Barluath have continued to grow since forming in early 2010 and have delighted many audiences, such as with their appearances at Scotland\u2019s Celtic Connections, Festival Interceltique de Lorient and PipingLive! to name only a few as festivals in Germany, Belgium and Denmark. The band have also worked on several European tours. The band released their debut album \u2018Source\u2019 on the Nimbus Alliance record label in September 2012 to widespread critical acclaim. This has been followed up with their second album \u2018At Dawn of Day\u2019 released in 2015.<\/p>\n

Why are you involved in Scottish music?<\/strong>
\nWe love the music, songs, and carrying on the tradition<\/p>\n

Any particular career highlights?<\/strong>
\nWinning the Danny Kyle Open Stage Award in 2012
\nPlaying Celtic Connections 2012,13,14
\nUp and coming nomination at the Trad Awards 2014
\nPlaying Festival Interceltique de Lorient 2016<\/p>\n

What are your plans for the future?<\/strong>
\nWe’re looking to record our third studio album and continue to tour both in Britain and abroad<\/p>\n
