We asked Paul Murray of Paul Murray the following questions.<\/p>\n

Tell us about yourself<\/strong>
\nFresh Folk came about as a result of a random enquiry to the University of Edinburgh Folk Society from Fresh Air Student Radio in 2006. Since then, it's been in Fresh Air and now K107FM in Kirkcaldy and Lochbroom FM in Ullapool and brings a weekly show of "All the best old and new folk music from all over the world". The word "folk" is interpreted in the eye of the presenter, Paul Murray.<\/p>\n

Why are you involved in Scottish music?<\/strong>
\nI was brought up surrounded by folk music from many places. I think that for many it is the ultimate link between a person and their culture. It is is also music that excites me, fills me with joy and often makes me think. I am particularly interested in songs, tunes etc that cross cultural and country divisions.<\/p>\n

Any particular career highlights?<\/strong>
\nInterviews have always been a joy. A particular favourite is an early one with Scott Gardiner where there are a number of on-air singalongs. I also remember fondly being surprised by a cake on my 27th birthday.<\/p>\n

For Christmas I often bring my family in who sing, chat and pull crackers and it's always a huge amount of fun!<\/p>\n

What are your plans for the future?<\/strong>
\nTo carry on making excellent radio to the best of my ability!<\/p>\n
