Held at different venues around the country, the aim of these Awards is to highlight Scotland\u2019s wonderful traditional music in all its forms and to create a high profile opportunity which will bring the music and music industry into the spotlight of media &amp; public attention.<\/p>\n<p>From its inception in 2003, the \u2018Awards\u2019 have steadily grown in popularity and prestige attracting television coverage by the Gaelic channel in 2007 and major sponsorship from MG ALBA in 2008. In 2012 and 2013 the event out live on TV.<\/p>\n<p>The Scots Trad Music Awards, which is organised by \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottishcultureonline.com\/hands-up-for-trad\/\">Hands Up For Trad<\/a>\u2019 is seen as \u2018The Oscars\u2019 for traditional music.
