Along The Way, is my debut album with Brian Miller, it has 14 tracks, 7 of which Brian plays guitar, and on 1 cittern, Brian also arrange these songs, the others are unaccompanied, including 3 of my favourite ballads, the album is due to the time and talents of Ian Macalman, Along The Way was recorded at his Kevock studio.

I started singing at the Inverness Folk Song Club, and I was mentored by the late Duncan MacLennan who for many years was organised of the club and festival, he gave me much advice and many songs, for many years I had the privilege of seeing many of the greats of folk music, many of whom gave me encouragement and songs.

I sang at the club also at festivals, also sang in a band with other club members, I had won tradional singing competions, but at the age of 22 I had a serious infection which affected my larynx, it took many years to recover physically, and to gain my confidence, but all is well, and this album I suppose is an unfulfilled ambition. www.facebook.com/dougiemackenzie
