The 2026 Scots Language Awards tak place on Saturday 19th September at the iconic Discovery Centre, home of the RRS Discovery Ship (1pm). Reserve yer ticket here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The awards will be a daytime event this year, making them as inclusive and accessible to as many award nominees from across Scotland as possible. <\/p>\n

Why dae ye feel it is important tae use Scots in everyday life?<\/strong>
\nIf we don\u2019t it\u2019ll die out and at wid be affa sad!! I am so proud of our little corner and the people in it<\/p>\n

Dae ye hae a favourite Scots phrase or saying?<\/strong>
\nI\u2019m awa doon i road to d ma eerins or tak yer toppers aff at the door or you\u2019ll mak a sotter o the bass!!<\/p>\n

Is there a Scots speaker who inspires you?<\/strong>
\nI absolutely love scotland the what and the flying pigs they were the ones who inspired me from a young age<\/p>\n

Do you hear Scots spoken regularly in your local area? Have you noticed any changes over time?<\/strong>
\nYes by the older generation definitely but not so much the younger which is sad but i hope i can encourage them to keep it alive<\/p>\n
