Tickets fir the ceremony are available tae buy here: <a href=\"https:\/\/eastayrshireleisure.com\/events\/scots-language-awards\/\">https:\/\/eastayrshireleisure.com\/events\/scots-language-awards\/<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>We askit Frieda Morrison o Doric Film Festival thae speirins. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Tell us aboot yersel or yer ootfit.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Doric Film Festival, now in it&#039;s fifth year, is a unique event which highlights the Doric language and culture through the medium of film, giving budding film makers an opportunity to show-case their talent using new up-to-date technology. <\/p>\n<p>The 2024 Doric Film Festival culminated on June 14th with a showcase of submissions &#8211; five minute films on the theme: \u201cFit Wye Nae.\u201d  The chosen films were shown via a magical &#039;Video Wall&#039; and beamed across to a packed audience in the amphi-theatre at Robert Gordon University.  <br \/>\nThe acclaimed Doric Film Festival, which is supported by the Scottish Government, and a team of loyal supporters, is a Scots Radio project, directed by award-winning Scots Radio Director Frieda Morrison who was presented with the Janet Paisley Award for Services to the Scots Language at Scotland\u2019s Trad Awards 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Frieda Morrison said: \u201cEvery year we receive exciting and creative ideas from entrants, and these serve to remind us of the rich and diverse cultural landscape of the North east.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom schoolchildren to seasoned film makers, the Doric Film Festival is a much-anticipated event which draws together entrants of all ages with the common goal of celebrating our language with vigour and enthusiasm.\u201d<br \/>\nMore information can be found on the Doric Film Festival website: www.doricfilmfestival.com<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whit wis it got ye involvit wi the Scots leid?<\/strong><br \/>\nWith reference to the Doric Film Festival.  We wanted to create something that would show-case our language and heritage, using the medium of up-to-date film and presentation technology,  that would bring the language to a wider audience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why dae ye feel it is important tae use Scots in everyday life?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Scots language is the foundation of our heritage.  If we lose the language we lose our identity &#8211; and the song of our soul.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dae ye hae a favourite Scots phrase or saying?<\/strong><br \/>\n&#039;Fit wye Nae&#039;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is there a Scots speaker who inspires you?<\/strong><br \/>\nFlora Garry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you hear Scots spoken regularly in your local area? Have you noticed any changes over time?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, I hear Doric Spoken every day in my local area.
