Ah’m an airtist an designer fae Edinburgh, wi ower 20 year experience ahint pen an computer. Ma work celebrates Scotland, its culture, its politics an the Scots leid an aw. Ah sell it oanline at ma Indy Prints shop, which haes been runnin sine 2014.
Whit wis it got ye involvit wi the Scots leid?
Ma political work durin the indyref got me noticed bi the Centre for the Scots Leid. In 2015 they got in touch wi me tae ask me tae mak some social media drawins for them. That stairtit me fae bein juist interestit in the leid tae actively promotin it, in baith ma airt an oanline.
Ony particlar career heighlichts?
Ah’d probably hae tae luik at ma political work for a heighlicht. Yin o the drawins a made durin indyref haes been described as ‘iconic’ bi a fair few people.
Wha’s yer plans fir the days aheid?
Ah’m workin oan a series o drawins o animals, wi the yin or mair (where appropriate) o the Scots words for the beastie in the drawin. Ma plan is tae lench them at the end o October.
The Scots Language Awards 2020 will be online at www.scotslanguageawards.com. We will have a mixture of events on the 23rd / 24th October. Performing at the Award on Saturday 24th September will be Gerda Stevenson, Gary Robertson, Shona Donaldson and Jim Malcolm.
