Tell us aboot yersel or yer ootfit.
St Andrew’s Primary school Is situated in the beautiful region of Dumfries and Galloway.
Whit wis it got ye involvit wi the Scots leid?
Following on from a collaboration with the Scots Language author Susi Briggs, St Andrew’s Primary and Nursery School we’re invited by Susi to help her to illustrate a new story that she was writing about a huffy heron that lives on the River Nith.
The children listened and watched Susi read aloud her story via video and then, working with our art specialist, Mr Parkhouse, children from all primary classes, and the nursery, all chose part of the story to illustrate, and the resulting artwork for “Huffy the Heron” was fantastic!
Ony particlar career heighlichts?
This has been a fabulous follow up to our lockdown learning, and it has been excellent to include all the children in nursery and primary classes.
Wha’s yer plans fir the days aheid?
We hope to invite Susi into school, when it is safe to do so, and enjoy a Scottish themed morning in the woodlands next to our school.
