Rory Haye is leading our workshop in Alloway on Saturday 17th February. We caught up with him to ask him about his singing, composing and workshop leading. He’s a busy man! <\/p>\n

  1. How would you describe your teaching style in 3 words?
    \nFun, relaxed, inclusive.<\/li>\n
  2. Who would you most like to sing with or compose for? 
    \nThere are so many answers! Sing with a Georgian men’s choir, or paghjella singers in Corsica, The Hilliard Ensemble?! \/ compose for the Bulgarian State Radio & Television Female Vocal Choir (Let Mustered design Voices Bulgares) – what a sound they make!<\/li>\n
  3. What has been your favourite singing experience? 
    \nIn 2014 as part of the Commonwealth Games Fringe I helped lead a choir as part of a large scale processional performance along the Clyde with dancers and brass band – more than a hundred performers – which was incredible; for the past 4 years I’ve been singing with a capella folk group Muldoon’s Picnic which has led to lots of great singing opportunities: blasting carols in a crammed pub in the icy village of Dent, in the Yorkshire Dales, is hard to beat for festive spirit; singing on stage at the Barrowlands with my friend Meilyr Jones was very special; and singing with the Glad Community Choir every week is hard to beat \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n
  4. What would you say to someone who is trying to decide whether to attend a Renewing the Tradition workshop?
    \nAttend a Renewing the Tradition Workshop! And bring your friends!<\/li>\n
  5. What are you most looking forward to at Alloway? 
    \nI believe this will be the fourth Renewing the Tradition workshop I’ve lead, and they have all been fantastic: there is nothing better than coming together as a group of strangers, sharing a day of wonderful music-making, and leaving as friends.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
