
{"id":4988,"date":"2017-02-23T10:16:40","date_gmt":"2017-02-23T10:16:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/projects.handsupfortrad.scot\/scotlandsings\/?p=4988"},"modified":"2017-02-23T10:18:09","modified_gmt":"2017-02-23T10:18:09","slug":"call-for-songwriters-looking-to-hit-the-right-note-in-scots-and-gaelic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.handsupfortrad.scot\/scotlandsings\/call-for-songwriters-looking-to-hit-the-right-note-in-scots-and-gaelic\/","title":{"rendered":"CALL FOR SONGWRITERS LOOKING TO HIT THE RIGHT NOTE IN SCOTS AND GAELIC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2030\" src=\"http:\/\/projects.handsupfortrad.scot\/distil\/files\/2017\/02\/N\u00f2s\u00d9r_purple-300x71.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"71\">MUSICIANS CAN WIN \u00a3500 &amp; TOP-CLASS TUITION WITH HANDS UP FOR TRAD COMPETITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After an incredibly successful debut year, <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.handsupfortrad.scot\/scotlandsings\/nos-ur\/\"><strong>N\u00f2s \u00d9r <\/strong><\/a>is set to return giving Gaelic and Scot\u2019s Song writers, singers and groups the chance to win \u00a3500 and one-on-one mentoring from established artists.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/projects.handsupfortrad.scot\/scotlandsings\/nos-ur\/\"><strong>ENTER HERE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Gaelic and Scots song writing competition founded by Hands Up for Trad in collaboration with Creative Scotland, will see the winners receive a lump sum of \u00a3500 each and mentoring with an experienced songwriter to the level of \u00a3500. There will be two winners \u2013 one for a Scots song and one for a Gaelic song.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Budding songwriters are invited to submit a new and original song in either language via the Hands Up for Trad website which will then be considered by an industry panel. To be in with a chance of winning, the hopefuls must submit entries by 7<sup>th<\/sup> April 2017: <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.handsupfortrad.scot\/scotlandsings\/nos-ur\/\">https:\/\/projects.handsupfortrad.scot\/scotlandsings\/nos-ur\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>N\u00f2s \u00d9r is part of Scotland Sings &#8211; a Hands Up for Trad project launched in 2012, designed to bring new participants and audiences together through singing. The initiative offers choirs, choir leaders and individual singers a platform to showcase their work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hands Up for Trad exists to promote Scottish traditional music through education, information and advocacy to artists, audiences and participants throughout Scotland and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>Hands Up for Trad are supported by Creative Scotland, the development body for the arts and creative industries in Scotland, who enable people and organisations to work in and experience the creative industries in Scotland by helping them to develop great ideas and bring them to life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Event Founder and Hands Up for Trad Creative Director, Simon Thoumire, said: <\/strong><em>\u201c<\/em><em>We have a wealth of incredibly talented musicians in Scotland and we\u2019re really excited to be working with Creative Scotland to see what bright new stars N\u00f2s \u00d9r unveils.
