This year\u2019s songs bring ballast to the project with A Fork in the Road from Eric Bogle (And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda) and the very Burnsian \u2013 in its theme and outlook \u2013 Handwash Feein\u2019 Mairket from one of Scotland\u2019s foremost songwriters Rab Knoakes. Alyth McCormack has written our Gaelic song this year, a waulking song called Latha dhomh ‘s mi falbh an \u00e0ird.<\/p>\n

The new songs will then be arranged for harmony singing and taught at our February workshops by some of Scotland\u2019s best workshop leaders. Alyth’s song and either Rab or Eric’s songs, possibly both if time allows, will be taught in Highland and Argyll and Bute with both Eric and Rab’s songs being taught in our three remaining areas.The workshops are for anyone who loves to sing: beginners and more experienced. The songs and harmonies will be taught slowly by ear although participants are welcome to take music home with them.<\/p>\n

Taking place in Alloway, Peebles, Taynuilt, Ardross and Birnam all of the workshops are open to choirs and individual singers alike. The cost for the day is \u00a312.50 and again as a wee incentive for all men and anyone who brings one along we have 2 ticket special deals: 2 tickets for 12.50 when one, or both, tickets is for a man!<\/p>\n
