A wonderful evening is in store as a mix of solo and individual choir performances are mixed with the choirs coming together to sing in unison. The evening, hosted by renowned Gaelic broadcaster John Carmichael, will be a unique occasion in the spectacular surroundings of the Abbey. A special touch is provided by the support act. The recently formed Renfrewshire Junior Gaelic Choral Association, who are fresh from their first ever performance at the Mòd in Dunoon, will also perform, adding a youthful element to the evening.

This event will launch the celebrations in the town as Paisley has assumed host town status of the Royal national Mòd and will welcome the festival in October. The audience will be given a real insight into what they can expect in the town next year.

Convenor of Mòd Phàislig, Ealasaid MacDonald said:

‘We are delighted to be a central part of Scotland Sings and to be hosting this major Gaelic choral event in the town. This event has been a partnership between the Association of Gaelic Choirs, An Comunn Gàidhealach, Hands Up for Trad and Mòd Phàislig 2013. We appreciate the choirs coming to ensure that Gaelic song is a central part of Scotland Sings. This is a very special time for Gaelic in Paisley. We are very excited to be the official host town of the next Royal National Mòd; and we hope this evening of song will give a real flavour of what is to come’.

Tickets for this event are available from Print and Copy It, 61 High Street, Paisley; online at www.modphaislig.org; or call 07535514385.

For further details on this press release contact Ealasaid MacDonald on 07535514383.

Flagship Gaelic event in Paisley Abbey Some of Scotland’s foremost Gaelic choirs are gearing up for a spectacular evening of song in the exquisite surroundings of Paisley Abbey as Paisley […]

[60,1

post-246","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-news","category-uncategorized","entry","has-post-thumbnail
["GET
