During a highly successful career in educational management Wendy was commended several times by HMI and her department was featured on BBC2 as a model of good practice. She pioneered initiatives in Modern Languages, Community Involvement, Equal Opportunities and Staff Training and Development. As a freelance consultant, lecturer/tutor, and community musician she is currently engaged by clients such as Scottish Storytelling Centre, Edinburgh University, Moray House, Scots Music Group, The Ca(I)re (Putting the “I” into Care) Programme, Care4Carers, Parkinson’s UK and Alzheimer Scotland. There is growing interest in her work as a professional singer. Wendy is committed to promoting awareness of the power of song, the social and political significance of community singing as well as the excellent potential of the human voice as a therapeutic intervention.

Wendy Carle Taylor will be leading around 50 singers from Singing4Fun! community singing groups from Edinburgh Branch Parkinson’s UK and Scots Music Group in a short set of beautiful songs in French, Scots, English and German with Ailie Robertson on clarsach.
Money raised from the evening will go towards funding the Parkinson’s UK research programme in Scotland!

SINGING BURNS!
Saturday 24th November
Celebrate the forthcoming anniversary of Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland, by singing the world-renowned songs of our national bard, Robert Burns! Explore the melody and lyrics of a selection of songs collected or written by Burns ranging from beautiful love ballads and humorous songs to stirring political anthems.
No previous experience of singing is required and there is no need to read music.
