BACKGROUND
Givin’ it Laldie is a successful and developing Community Music project based in Gorbals in Glasgow. We are a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, SCO43406. Our patron is Ricky Ross, lead singer of the Scottish band Deacon Blue. Gorbals is a rapidly changing area on the south bank of the River Clyde, containing a wide mixture of housing stock, housing both old and new residents and a number of asylum seekers and refugees, and including some areas of multiple deprivation. The area is part of the City Council’s “Thriving Places” project, focusing on partnership working to plan, resource and deliver services together with local communities.
