Karen Dietz, a native of Massachusetts, is a musician, performer, teacher and musical director who brings passion and enthusiasm, and a wealth of experience, to her work.
A member of the Natural Voice Practitioners Network and the Scottish Songleaders’ Network, Karen has been Musical/Artistic Director of Loud & Proud, Scotland’s LGBT choir, since it was formed in 2005, and leads community choirs in Dunbar and North Berwick. She leads one-off and weekend workshops, and her work with groups includes Edinburgh’s Wildfire women’s choir, Birnam’s Just Singin’, Turtle Dove Singing Camps, Folk Camps Society, Citizens Advice Bureau (Yes, really!), and East Lothian Council employees lunch hour choir.
Karen has worked with secondary school pupils and local AmDram groups in musical theatre, has taught voice and guitar classes for Edinburgh’s Jewel and Esk College. She sings with Richard Klein and with his band, Quixote, and also with Edinburgh songwriter Tom Fairnie, as well as doing the occasional solo gig.
