An SQA accredited short course created, and run by women. Learn about gaining employment in the music industry.
Following the success of our first ‘Women’s Employability in the Music Industry course’, the academy of music and sound will be running a second course, coming at the end of January. This course is designed by, and for women, and covers the following subjects:
– Your skills and where they can lead you
– Real life application processes
– Music industry organizations and their purpose
– Making yourself a more ’employable’ candidate
– Getting to grips with industry employment processes
– Learning about opportunities specifically for women
The course takes place over two consecutive weekends:
Saturday 27th 11 – 6, and Sunday 28th 12 – 5, January
Saturday 3rd 11 – 6, and Sunday 4th, 12 – 5, February
(these times are subject to change)
The course also has two master classes taken by industry women discussing their experience, and the process of creating their careers. They are; Carol Davies, trainer, lecturer, and Co-owner, and operator of Bailey Guitars, and Emma Bryceland BA (hons) performer, creative media business owner, and former artist liaison officer at Emubands.
The course is also SQA accredited, which means successful completion of the course will gain our applicants a certificate (SQA level 4 and 6)
