Saturday 1st December at 12 noon – Evergreen will be singing a mix of Shetland dialect songs (Whit does Shetland mean to me), folk songs (Gypsy Rover and Wild White Swans) and Christmas classics – (winter wonderland etc). They have been singing together as a group for 5 years and perform at numerous concerts and events in Shetland like the Shetland Folk Festival, Church concerts and variety concerts in aid of charities, and they were asked to perform at the Shetland Hamefarin opening ceremony in 2010. Choir members have all performed at the Schools Music Festival and have won Gold and Silver awards. The girls in the choir are all in secondary 2, and they have smart green t-shirts with Evergreen on the back and their names on the front!
Maria Barclay Millar (singing instructor) says “We just love singing!”
