Below are some questions we are frequently asked about Scotland Live Awards.
What are the Scotland Live Awards?
The Scotland Live Awards exist to encourage more promoters to promote Scottish music.
Can anyone enter?
Yes anyone can enter as long as you agree with our guidelines.
Do we get financial help in running our club?
Hands Up for Trad will pay 3 lucky promoters / clubs £2000 over a 12 month period. The committee has to have a bank account and the money will be paid in instalments. If Hands Up for Trad do not feel that the agreement is being honoured they have the right to withhold payments.
Is this for individual promoters or do we need a committee?
Whilst all entries will be considered on a per applicant basis we would recommend that you consider a committee. It is more fun and spreads the workload.
When do we have to start?
The deadline for entries is March 13th 2015 and we will tell the winners within 2 weeks. At the point you need to start planning for your first gig in September 2015.
How many gigs to we have to do?
Eight gigs from September 2015.
Do I have to promote a certain kind of music?
This is a competition to promote traditional music so your club can promote folk, box and fiddle, piping, Gaelic, Scots and others genres within traditional music.
What kind of things will we need to run club?
You will need a venue, possibly a PA depending on size of room, a website and an audience!
I’ve never done this before. Will I get help?
