{"id":7447,"date":"2016-08-17T09:33:40","date_gmt":"2016-08-17T08:33:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects.handsupfortrad.scot\/handsupfortrad\/?p=7447"},"modified":"2016-08-17T09:33:40","modified_gmt":"2016-08-17T08:33:40","slug":"disability-rights-uk-agm-and-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.handsupfortrad.scot\/handsupfortrad\/disability-rights-uk-agm-and-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Disability Rights UK AGM and Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members, Disability Rights UK AGM and Conference on Equal participation for all \u2013 together we can be stronger<\/p>\n<p>This event will take place on November 7th in London<\/p>\n<p>Come and debate how we can work together for equal participation:<\/p>\n<p>bringing all our different experiences &#8211; of different impairments and health conditions, different regions, communities and more uniting to ensure our rights are sustained and advanced, in the context of Brexit learning from each other\u2019s user-led initiatives in different areas<br \/>\nlearning from other countries and sectors: for instance, in Australia disabled people campaigned with allies for significant investment in independent living \u2013 and won; and the LGBT communities have in 20 years achieved a sea change in attitudes and policy. You will also hear from speakers including new Ministers (invited) and disabled people sharing local and national experiences of influencing change.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016 DR UK launched a new strategy, based on disabled people working together \u2013 locally and nationally, across our different experiences \u2013 to achieve Equal Participation for All.
