Is your music group setting up a committee for the first time and looking for some pointers? Do you already have a committee but are keen to refresh your approach and\/or recruit new committee members?<\/p>\n
Having an effective committee in place can be vital to the smooth running of your amateur music group but it can be tricky knowing the best approach to take and where to go for support.<\/p>\n
Join Voluntary Arts Scotland, Making Music Scotland and voluntary-run music groups from Edinburgh and further afield, for a free training and information sharing session on 20 August.<\/p>\n
The event will cover:<\/p>\n
Best practice for committee meetings
\nMaximising the skills of your committee members
\nRecruiting new members to your committee
\nStrategies for delegation
\nThis will be an interactive session with lots of opportunity to share and exchange ideas, accompanied by lunch and refreshments. There will also be an opportunity to find out more about how Voluntary Arts Scotland and Making Music Scotland can support your group and promote your activities generally, with useful hand-outs to take away and share with the rest of your group.<\/p>\n
The workshop will take place in the beautiful surroundings of the Royal Botanic Garden, in their newly renovated Botanic Cottage, which has recently re-opened as a workshop and performance space for community use. More information will be available on the day.<\/p>\n
