schm\u2022 are the thirty sixth recipients of Hands Up for Trad\u2019s Business Limelight Award. The \u201cLimelight\u2019s\u201d are a monthly initiative (launched in October 2012) that recognises the outstanding contributions made by businesses and organisations who contribute, shape and influence the arts and cultural sector in Scotland today. schm\u2022 are a company designing beautiful CD covers for some of our top music artists in Scotland.<\/p>\n

We asked Somhairle MacDonald of schm\u2022 the following questions.<\/p>\n

What is your principal company activity?<\/strong>
\nDesign, Illustration, Photography, Video and Web<\/p>\n

When and where did the company first start trading?<\/strong>
\n2001, In various bedrooms, living rooms & sheds. Drumchardine, Abriachan, Kilmorack , Glasgow.<\/p>\n

What made you want to work in Scottish culture?<\/strong>
\nI’ve been involved in art and music since childhood.<\/p>\n

\"schymo\"Can you tell us of any particular company highlights?<\/strong>
\nGetting artwork on to vinyl is always nice \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

What are your company’s plans for the future?<\/strong>
\nTo producing stand out pieces of art that reflect and capture the time in which I live.<\/p>\n

How will you celebrate receiving Hands Up for Trad’s Business Limelight award?<\/strong>
\nFireworks ‘n’ that.<\/p>\n
