An Lanntair<\/p>\n
The course, which will be led by Calum Martin and Dr Margaret Bennett, will explore the musical and historical application of this important part of our heritage.<\/p>\n
Although essentially a vocal tradition performed in Gaelic, lack of fluency in the language should not be considered a barrier to taking part in the course. Tutors will also be happy to accommodate musicians who wish to replicate the sound on their instrument.<\/p>\n
As part of the week, there will also be an opportunity for students to attend a Gaelic church service where they will be encouraged to participate, whilst experiencing at first hand the sound of authentic congregational Gaelic psalm singing in its natural environment.<\/p>\n
Please note that places are limited on this unique course and we suggest that you book early.<\/p>\n
The course will take place from Monday 18th to Sunday 25th July 2016.<\/p>\n
The cost to non residential participants is \u00a3250 and for residential, \u00a3400.<\/p>\n
Accommodation will be provided by way of shared self catering on the Isle of Lewis.<\/p>\n
A deposit of 25% is required in order to secure your place.<\/p>\n
